Welcome Dr. Warangkhana Wongba to EISC as of July 19th. She has joined Internist PC and now interprets sleep studies along with Drs. Peterson, Geisler and Struthers.

What’s a Zzoma?

Zzomaosa pillow-type device

It’s a specially made pillow-type device you strap onto your back to prevent you from sleeping on your back. This could be a recommendation from our Sleep Medicine Physicians for treatment of supine specific OSA when they know lateral REM & NREM sleep are okay.

Zzoma is the only FDA-cleared Positional Therapy for Sleep Apnea. Zzoma requires a valid prescription. Physicians, please email your prescription to or fax it to Most insurances do not cover Zzoma. Payment from your patient does not have to be made before sending a prescription. Visit

EISC offers one-to-one patient education when the patient is referred here which improves the study results and reduces the anxiety of patients. Pre-Certs, Prior Auths and Advance Notifications continue to increase for In-Lab Sleep Tests as a necessary requirement by insurances. The list includes but is not limited to: Aetna, Coventry, UHC, Health Alliance, Midland’s Choice Federated & Aetna, Humana Choice. Please note, Coventry ONE has no coverage for a sleep study.

United Healthcare (UHC) – Effective November 1, 2012 Home (unattended) Sleep Test will NOT need prior auth/advance notification. In-Lab, as stated above, will and can be obtained at or call 877-842-3210 (option 3) or by faxing the request to 866-756-9733.

Access and EISC Referral Forms:

The EISC referral form has been updated and is now 1 page! Copies have been sent out but a fresh copy is always available on our new website under Forms. There you will find not only the EISC referral form but the Outreach Referral forms for Jones Regional Med Ctr in Anamosa and Regional Med Ctr in Manchester. Instructions are also provided for your convenience. The Sleep Study brochure has been updated for patient instructions. Also available are Sleep Questionnaires and a Medical Records Release for your patients. Visit today!

What’s New: has an entirely new look as of 8/2/2012. Our new website Home Page contains the EISC environment, a Sleep Quiz and comprehensive videos for sleep-related disorders. Sleep Medicine Physicians explain these disorders and offer an avenue to educate your patients when they are needing a sleep study. The Staff page allows you to learn about the Physicians and Support Staff such as the Sleep Technicians, the newly appointed Clinical (Melissa Nissen) and Business (Lisa Gleason) Service Coordinators.
